Was wondering if someone from the USA could explain the currency over there. . I am from Australia and am thinking about visiting America and would often know the different currencies. . Thanks. What I found out was – No real difference except that the value is different on any given day. We have dollars similar to you, specifically dollars, quarters-25 cents, dimes-10 cents, nickels-5 cents, and pennies-1 cent. (There are a few oddball coins-a 50 cent piece-rarely used, a dollar coin-seldom used and a Sacagewea dollar-rarely used. ) If you use your credit card you will get the Australian total on your bill and it will tell you how much something actually costs on the day you bought it. Everything has a price tag and we all speak English (Except ethnic stores and they mostly have someone on staff who speaks English. It's like home and an accent. Go t• to see what your dollar is like against ours right now.
